Introducing our bold new wordmark

The new design is not just a nod to history—it’s also a bridge to our broader design ethos.

Type Five’s new wordmark is more than a visual refresh—it’s a statement of principles. Loud and bold, the design embraces the same qualities that define our homes: modularity, symmetry, and repeatability. Where our previous wordmark leaned toward restraint, this new iteration carries more personality. It’s meant to be seen, to stand out, and to be immediately identifiable—whether on a small screen or from across the street.

The design pays homage to mid-century modern influences, reinterpreted for today. References to Eichler homes and Sea Ranch pamphlets and iconic 1960s typefaces ground the design in a lineage of timeless modernism. At the same time, it draws from Bauhaus lettering and Eurostile typeface, whose extended, linear forms echo the clarity and technical precision of modern architecture. These influences give the wordmark both a functional edge and a distinctly architectural presence.

Rooted in Modernism, designed for what’s next

But the wordmark is not just a nod to history—it’s also a bridge to our broader design ethos. The geometry and rhythm of the letters more directly connect to our “T” icon, creating cohesion across brand touchpoints. Inspirations from Barbara Stauffacher Solomon’s bold Sea Ranch supergraphics and the playful yet disciplined design ethos of Eames at Herman Miller add further layers of personality. The result is a mark that balances function with spirit, technicality with warmth.

Another defining characteristic of the new mark is its monospaced design, where each letter occupies the same amount of horizontal space. This decision isn’t just stylistic—it reflects the modular design system at the core of Type Five’s work. Just as our homes are built from repeatable, well-proportioned modules that fit together seamlessly, the wordmark’s uniform rhythm creates a sense of order and consistency. The equal spacing gives the logo a structural quality, underscoring our belief that great design is both systematic and flexible, adaptable to any scale without losing integrity.

This new wordmark embodies Type Five’s mission: to build with intention, clarity, and impact. It’s fresh, recognizable from any distance, and firmly rooted in design traditions that value both form and purpose. Just as our homes elevate everyday living through thoughtful design, this new wordmark elevates our brand by making our principles visible—intentionally designed, made to last, and unmistakably ours.
